Graphite on A3 Bristol Board

Nikon F2 from the '70s, I don't know the exact date.
Reference photo from an artist here on DeviantArt, will give credit soon. He has manipulated the photo itself to give it an old look.

Some areas are a bit blurred, these are intentional due to depth of field.
The real size is roughly half of an A3, I just used the A3 paper vertically.

- 2B to 5B graphite pencils
- electric eraser
- About 25 hours

Thanks for watching!

Can I just comment on the irony inherent in this piece?

Haha thanks for noticing! If you mean the irony of "photorealism"

Oh yes. I thought a fun companion piece might be a blurry photograph of some art supplies. It would be the opposite in every way, obviously in subject matter, but also in the amount of planning, effort, time, and skill required to make it.

Thanks a lot, that's my goal indeed ^^ With graphite it can never be perfect though, I want to use colors in the future.

Thanks for your comment :)

Straight into my favourites^^ I mean WOW...this looks so impressivly detailed, I just dunno what else to say, except that this is a true stunner=) Also those numbers on the lens look so CLEAN! I almost thought it was a photo but knowing you and your skills..this had to be an artwork^^ Well done mate, awesome!

Awesome, thanks dude! :)
I stopped drawing this last December (o.O)
and only had the top roughy part left, just above the Nikon part....
It took me a year to get myself to draw those details, I hated it....... it doesn't look like a lot of work but I hate repetitive stuff. Still I wish I had finished it last year :p

thanks for the comment, always much appreciated!

And woah thats a little while ago=P
True about details, though, after a while, I started to love details, while I avoided it allways before =P
